Traffic Desperation

Posted by Not John Chow | August 1, 2010 .

Free Search Engine Submissions.  Is this a scam?  I don’t know, but I am going to fall for it like I know thousands before me and thousands after me have and will fall for it.  I hope it is legitimate.  Please share your thoughts.

I want more traffic.  Any site that can promise an improvement in traffic is like a drug to us newbies.  We are at times desperate.  It is only natural.

So, I selected a site to try.  I chose www.hit-counter-download.com and put some of their code on my site.  They claim that they will manually submit my site to Google to make sure it is listed correctly.   Here is what they say on their site:

The main engines we submit to:

  • Google (Accounts for the majority of search engine traffic)
  • Whatuseek
  • Wisenut
  • ExactSeek
  • Scrubtheweb
  • Jayde

In addition your site will be listed in the below Search Engines:

  • AOL Search
  • HotBot
  • Search.com
  • Metacrawler
  • Dogpile
  • Mamma
  • C4
  • Canada.com
  • ixquick
  • Infogrid
  • WebInfoSearch Fast Search
    (AllTheWeb.com)
  • Query Server
  • 800go
  • Debriefing
  • Highway 61
  • 37.com
  • OneSeek
  • MetaSpider
  • Vivisimo
  • PlanetSearch

I guess I will find out soon if this works.  Stay tuned.
