I do not know how many people understand the significance of the Magna Carta. This document established the rights of the English people and limited the power of King John in 1215. The Magna Carta was reissued with each new King (or Queen). When King Edward I reissued it 1297 the British Parliment enacted it as law.
The founding fathers of the United States of America borrowed heavily from this document when drafting the U.S. Consitution.
The Magna Carta that was sold yesterday was 710 years old and is only one of about 20 known to exist.
Why is this important to you the reader? Think about it. If the British Barons in 1215 hadn’t forced King John to sign the Magna Carta, the world would be very different today. The freedom to pursue our choices today have roots in the actions that we have taken in the past. We owe a lot of today’s freedoms to brave people who lived more than 700 years ago and like them, what takes place in our own future even only seven minutes into the future can be related to what we do right now.
Appreciate what you have and plan for what you want. Success in anything (your blog, career, life) depends on a plan of action. Plan for the future because the future has a plan for you.
