Love the Frappucino But Not the Cost? Have a Mochacino Instead!

Now that we have a lot less money coming in my wife decided to give up her Starbuck’s Frappucino’s.

I hated for her to give up one of her comfort foods so, I began to play chemist and through trail and error I came up with my own formula for a Mocha flavored coffee drink. I call mine Mochacino ©.

I use one cup of coffee, 2.5 tablespoons of chocolate, and 1.25 cups of milk. Some people swear by Hershey’s chocolate syrup but, I use the local Kroger brand. I also use Kroger brand 2% milk and I use Maxwell House Lite Coffee. You of course are free to use what ever brands you wish.

Some people add some sugar to make it sweeter but, my wife likes it the way that I make it. It is not an exact replica of the Starbuck’s Frappucino but, I figure that we are saving a great deal of money this way. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Thanks, looking forward to try it out. I’m a big fan of improvising as well wherever possible. My culinary skills were never great but I learnt to cook a lot of food by analyzing take-out orders and trying my own ideas.

I gave it a run and what can I say? It’s not an exact replica but at some level it may even be better. Of course I used ordinary Nescafe coffee so maybe I should make a few adjustments.
