John Chow No Longer Banned By Google.

Posted by | January 23, 2013 .

John Chow announced yesterday that he removed the Text Link Ads that Google has objected to. John Is now seeing his pagerank and traffic rise again. In the process of detailing out what the change means, John Chow made a reference to the Not John Chow blog and how we have benefited from his absence:

“The number 1 search term people used to find John Chow dot Com is, believe it or not, “John Chow”. This should tell you how much sites like johncow and notjohnchow were benefiting for being ranked for my name.”

Whereas this is a true statement, my Google search engine results for “John Chow” has dropped from #3 to #8.

The truth is that I will probably get more traffic from John Chow mentioning my blog in his post than I will ever get from Google!

Check out John’s post here.

That’s why I’m sick of google and pagerank. Everyone seems to pray to the god of google and if google doesn’t like something (In text links) they ban you. what a joke.
One of my sites is also banned because of in text links, but google still sends me plenty of traffic, I just don’t have a PR.
Oh well the money I make from in text links I think I can live with being banned.

Yeah, his traffic should have exploded by now, although 80% of his visitors use an RSS reader for updates.

But it’s a good news for beginner bloggers and people who are now discovering the web and money making opportunities.

Just wondering – what’s the point of *this* blog, then? Simply to take advantage of the “john chow” name or do you have some secret agenda? :)
