Increase Comments with a Simple Reverse Plugin

Posted by Not John Chow | June 26, 2009 .

image I have installed a new plugin that I am hopeful will increase my traffic. The plugin is called “Simple Reverse Comment” and it does just that. Instead of recent comments being buried at the bottom they are listed in reverse order showing the most recent comments first. The plugin was written by Sudar.

Now if my blog was as popular as John Chow dot Com this would significantly increase the number of comments that I received because everyone wants to drive traffic through John’s blog.

As always, you want to be one of the first ten to comment in order to get noticed. But, what if it was a competition to be one of the commentators listed directly below the most recent post? Only time will tell. Unfortunately for me, I am not yet popular enough to test this theory.

What do you think? Is this a good strategy?

Hi. This blog is so intriguing. I hope you and John Chow are of best friends. Is he your inspiration? If yes, the JC should be proud and be honored of you, and be best of friends. Lol.

It’s good you have enabled comment luv here. Recent comments is I think should be greater than others. Also the top commentator plugin wil surely entice commentators to our blog.

I’m using Typepad and it does not require a plug-in to have this. I have the option to configure the comments just by clicking either “Newer comments first” or “Older Comments First” . I don’t need to install a plug-in at Typepad. I don’t think this is enough to entice commenters. “Recent Comments” is better to be positioned in a sidebar in a blog. You already have a CommentLuv enabled system, so this is also a great thing rather than this plug-in.
