Header Image Rotator for WordPress

Posted by Not John Chow | November 11, 2007 .

I found a great way to manage the header image in your blog.  I found the plugin Header Image Rotator at http://mhough.com/wordpress/2007/header-image-rotator-plugin/ .

Features include the ability to add infinte header images in multiple formats, as well as the ability to adjust the timing of the image changes by the minute, hour or day.

Installation was simple as well.  All I needed to do was to download a zip file and use my ftp program to put the unzipped file into my /wp-content/plugins/ directory.  I then created a directory in my /wp-content/ folder named “header-images.”  I then used PowerPoint to make several images.  The reason for using PowerPoint was that it was easy to add images and text in a consistent manner.  It is important that all of the images are the same size.  This allows for a consistant look for your blog.

After creating and placing my images, I activated the plugin from the WordPress panel and then set the image interval in the options tab.

It was that simple.  If you refresh this page every couple of minutes you should see the results of my efforts.  I also changed the header of www.start-run-win.com which is still under construction.

I hope that eventually I can offer advertising space in my header that will change every minute.
