It’s the start of another month and year and that means it’s time to find out how much Not John Chow dot Com made for the month of January, my third month of blogging.
As I continue to aspire to become successful like John Chow, I am continuing my case study to see if money can be made by the average guy that does not have the benefit of Mr. Chow’s previous experience.
When Not John Chow dot Com was just starting up in November 2007, I came across John Chow dot Com and began to wonder if it was possible for someone like me, to learn what was necessary to succeed as John has done. I continue to learn to blog and to learn how to increase traffic to make money online
So, here is where I am at:
Total Blog Income for January 2008: $51.33
Here is where the huge enough amounts of cash came from:
Adsense: $0.16
Bidvertiser: $0.65
WidgetBucks: $1.21
Smorty: $18.00
On Site Ads: $0.31
Donations: $6.00
Contest Prizes: $25.00
Grand Total: $51.33
Blog traffic was 3,075 page views from 1,854 unique visitors, according to Google Analytics. That comes out to be $0.0167 per page view. That is a great improvement over December!
I will continue following John Chow’s advice. I will continue to experiment with different methods of monetization. I will also follow his advice and will continue to tweak my blog and continue to keep moving. Since, I am still learning here, I recommend that you follow John Chow’s money making strategy. You can see my make money strategy here.
Blog expenses for the month equal $0.00. That’s right! I get the spend the $51.33 any way I want. Pure Profit!
How did I do compared to John Chow? Check out the graphs!
Wow! John Chow continues to fly! His statistics look like Skyscrapers while my numbers appear to be crushed under the staggering weight of his statistics!
I expect January to be better as I explore more money making options. Like I said last month, it would be hard not to.

I’ve been reading your blog for a month now. I like to say that there seems to be a number of us who want to be like John Chow. Imagine, making $30K in a month from blogging.
I’m looking at jumping into the blogger community as a full-time blogger within a year. I would love to blog and return to school.
I hope that we might learn from each other as we document our journey.
