Blog Income Report – February 2008

Posted by Not John Chow | March 11, 2008 .

It’s the start of another month and that means it’s time to find out how much Not John Chow dot Com made for the month of February, my fourth month of blogging.

I continue to aspire to become successful like John Chow, and I am continuing my case study to see if money can be made by the average guy that does not have the benefit of Mr. Chow’s previous experience.

When Not John Chow dot Com was just starting up in November 2007, I came across John Chow dot Com and began to wonder if it was possible for someone like me, to learn what was necessary to succeed as John has done. I continue to learn to blog and to learn how to increase traffic to make money online.

Feb Income Blog Report

So, here is where I am at:

Total Blog Income for February 2008: $7.98

Here is where the huge enough amounts of cash came from:

Adsense: $0.78

Bidvertiser: $0.80

WidgetBucks: $0.00

Smorty: $0.00

Project Wonderful: $4.61

ScratchBack: $1.79

Grand Total: $7.98

Blog traffic was 2,728 page views from 1,741 unique visitors, according to Google Analytics. That comes out to be $0.003 per page view. Very unimpressive eh?

February 2008 Pageviews

This month I throttled back a little and I paid the price.  I decided not to use the pay per post option and I decided to focus on my content.  Even so, my page views are not climbing rapidly.

I will continue following John Chow’s advice. I will continue to experiment with different methods of monetization. This month I chose not to do the “pay per post” method and tried to focus on my content.

I have also come to the conclusion that differnet advertising options work better for different traffic rates.  Adsense requires high traffic to work.  Widget Bucks, Bidvertiser, and Never Blue also fall into the moderate to high traffic requirement.  Project Wonderful and Smorty can get by with low traffic.  I will need to review this strategy going forward.

Clearly, I do not yet have enough traffic to make Adsense, Bidvertiser or even WidgetBucks to work for me. I did discover that Project Wonderful has great potential.

I will continue to follow John Chow’s advice and will continue to tweak my blog and continue to keep moving. Since, I am still learning here, I recommend that you follow John Chow’s money making strategy. I will be updating my make money strategy soon and you can see my make money strategy here.

How did I do compared to John Chow? Check out the graphs!

It is hard to compare skyscrapers with small scraps of confetti on the street but, I think you get the idea. Simply put, my numbers are small and John Chow’s are big. Pretty deep analysis eh?

Check back to see how I’m doing in March.

Congrats for your earnings. There are other ways to better monetize your blog, if that’s what you are looking for.

lol nice earnings. There are several things wrong, the positioning of adsense is bad, it doesn’t really blend. Also the people visting will be higher in terms of web knowledge and not click your ads. Id rework the layout.

It is normal for a new blog to get that amount of money per page view. I suppose you’ll get better and better when you’ll get more traffic from search engines.

I think your decision of not using pay per post was a wise one, taking into consideration that Google’s after the bloggers who use it.

Congratulations there. I made 130$ from AdSense and 130$ from private sales. There is time for you to beat John Chow.
