Banned from EntreCard!

Posted by Not John Chow | October 18, 2009 .

That’s right. One of my blogs was banned from EntreCard. That is all I can imagine has happened. the site was http://www.404.notjohnchow.com/ . I received an email from the Entrecard Team which read “404 account deleted, all credits sent to your main account.”

That’s it. No explaination. Nope, none. Just a one line email telling me my account was deleted. I am left wondering why. I I new why, perhaps I could do something to fix the situation. I must say, not  a very friendly remark.

I am sure that even John Chow must of got an explaination from Google when he was banned! and I am also sure that  John Chow was given some opportunity to explain himself to Google.

EntreCard gave me nothing.  Pretty low class if you ask me.

    Vicky,

I am so sorry for not getting back to you. I really do apreciate it!

I guess EntreCard is better at blogging than me!

    Speaking of no communication. I advertised in your top spots a while ago and have never even received a thank you. It’s kinda the same feeling. :}

They will … they are working on ways to make the process more smoother and provide better support. That is one of their priorities. Just give them time. You’ll see

    Perhaps I complain too much.

Maybe it is because I crave too much attention.

I am pretty sure I would have banned my site if I were in their situation.

I don’t expect personalized emails explaining their motives either.

I do think that since someone took the time to end my account that they could at least have more than one standard email reply.

In my case, I think it is pretty clear why my site was rejected. My question is did anyone else have one of their blogs rejected and did they get an explaination? Maybe it is clear to me why my blog was rejected, but not everyone will be in the same situation.

I think if you are going to take on a challenge like EntreCard, then you need to deal with the whole entity.

I do commend the project and I do think that it has been a great success. I know that I have benefited from the exercise. I hope that when the explosive growth dies down that it survives and give them a chance to catch up.

I am sure that impNerd is right. I am sure that they want quality sites but whether that’s the reason or not … I don’t know. However … I need you to remember EntreCard isn’t ran by paid staff. They can’t personalize every email that they send out. They have enough on their hands. If you want to know why they banned you … then ask. I know they will respond as they have responded to all my emails.

What’s the url of the banned site? Must have been something on it that broke their TOS.

You still have never taken up my offer. I offered you some consulting for your blog to make your blog easier to look at and easy to make money with in exchange for some advertising. You should really take me up on my offer. The consulting I provide would be worth it.

Anyways … email EntreCard … find out why … I sure it is a legit reason. They don’t just go around banning people for fun!

Why are we guessing? Shouldn’t we at least be given the courtesy of an explanation?

My guess is that it was a 404 page and Entrecard wants “quality sites”.
